Advocacy
HealthReach works with federal and state politicians, state and local government agencies and private community resources to increase access to free or low cost healthcare to the medically uninsured and underserved. The following are examples of HealthReach advocacy efforts to improve access to healthcare in Illinois:
- Illinois Free Clinic Association – HealthReach is an active member of the Illinois Free Clinic Association which is a not for profit organization dedicated to the operational excellence and betterment of all of Illinois’ free clinics
- Lake County Blue Ribbon Committee – This committee is sponsored by State Senator Susan Garrett and is chartered with solving the unique healthcare access issues of Lake County Illinois
- Lake County Subspecialty Care Fund – This fund established in 2007 is administered by the Lake County Health Department. The Fund operates in partnership with regional hospitals and healthcare providers to fund and deliver specialty care services that are beyond the scope of services available at our respective clinics.
